Ecommerce reporting comparison

Glew vs a custom data warehouse: hosted ecommerce BI or your own Snowflake?

Glew offers prebuilt ecommerce dashboards from $250 a month and a hosted warehouse with Looker on its Plus plan. Here is how that compares to owning the stack.

The short answer

Glew covers a lot of channels out of the box, including Amazon, TikTok Shop, NetSuite, and POS, with hundreds of prebuilt KPIs. For a multi-channel brand that wants dashboards quickly, it is worth a look. Choose a custom build when you want the warehouse and the models in your own account, need your own metric logic, or want a BI tool other than Looker.

How Glew.io and a custom warehouse differ

  1. 01

    Prebuilt dashboards vs your models

Glew ships 250+ predefined KPIs and dashboards. A warehouse build defines each metric in dbt for your business.

  2. 02

    Their warehouse vs yours

Glew Plus runs a managed Amazon Redshift warehouse. A custom build uses your own Snowflake account.

  3. 03

Looker bundled vs your choice of BI

Glew Plus bundles a Looker license. A build can use Sigma or whatever BI your team prefers.

Pricing at a glance

Glew.io

Everest Group LLC, an Omaha-based private investment firm (acquisition announced March 2026)

Glew is an ecommerce analytics and BI platform that pulls store, marketplace, marketing and ERP data into prebuilt dashboards, with a higher tier that adds a managed data warehouse, ELT and bundled Looker reporting. It targets multi-channel retailers and agencies that want reporting without building their own stack.

What drives cost
Two tiers listed: Glew Pro ($250/month billed annually; core analytics, about 40 integrations, 250+ KPIs, report builder, scheduled reports, Klaviyo/Mailchimp segment sync, daily email snapshot) and Glew Plus (custom pricing; adds data warehouse, fully managed ETL, bundled Looker license with prebuilt LookML, 150-180+ integrations). Glew's FAQ says Plus/Enterprise cost depends on the business and its data and integrations. Setup: Glew says a Shopify store connects in minutes and initial imports from some sources can take from a few hours to 72+ hours; most data refreshes hourly, customer and inventory data nightly.

What Glew does well

Its connector catalog covers Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon Seller and Vendor Central, TikTok Shop, NetSuite, Lightspeed, and Recharge. Glew Pro is $250 a month billed annually, and Plus bundles managed ELT, a warehouse, and Looker in one contract. Glew was acquired by Everest Group, an Omaha investment firm, in March 2026.

Where it stops

Custom SQL needs Plus or Enterprise, and Plus pricing is not published. The warehouse is Glew’s own Redshift environment; we found no documentation for loading into your own Snowflake or BigQuery. Attribution is first-order or last-click, with no pixel, MMM, or incrementality described. Glew’s own pages give different integration counts, so confirm the sources you need in a demo.

Where Glew.io is better

  • Large prebuilt connector catalog (Glew cites 170+ sources on Plus) covering Shopify, Amazon Seller and Vendor Central, TikTok Shop, NetSuite, Lightspeed and Recharge, so no one has to build and maintain those pipelines
  • Hundreds of out-of-the-box dashboards and 250+ predefined KPIs on day one, versus weeks of dbt modeling and Sigma workbook building in a custom project
  • Entry tier at about $250/month is far below the cost of a consultant-built Snowflake + dbt + Sigma stack plus warehouse compute
  • Plus bundles ELT, a managed warehouse and a Looker license in one contract, so no separate BI or warehouse licenses are needed
  • Ready-made subscription metrics (MRR, churn, subscriber and plan LTV) and product cost management with CSV import or platform sync

Who should pick which

Pick Glew.io if

  • You want prebuilt multi-channel dashboards on a budget.

  • Your team is happy using Looker.

  • You want the warehouse and dbt models in accounts you own.
  • You need metric logic beyond predefined KPIs.
  • You prefer Sigma or another BI tool over Looker.
