Lifetimely vs a custom data warehouse: profit and LTV for Shopify brands

Lifetimely gives Shopify brands daily P&L and LTV for $0 to $999 a month. Here is when that is all you need and when you have outgrown it.

The short answer

For a Shopify store that wants daily profit and LTV without a project, Lifetimely is the obvious first step: it has a free plan, prices by order count, and a third-party review puts setup at an hour or two plus a day of history loading. You have outgrown it when other channels matter, when finance needs reconciled numbers, or when you want the data in your own warehouse.

How Lifetimely and a custom warehouse differ

  1. 01

    An app vs a platform

Lifetimely is a Shopify app with daily P&L and LTV out of the box. A warehouse is infrastructure you build reports on.

  2. 02

    Order-priced vs project-priced

Lifetimely costs $0 to $999 a month by order count. A warehouse is a project plus your own Snowflake and BI bills.

  3. 03

    One channel vs many

Lifetimely centers on Shopify, with Amazon as an add-on. A warehouse models every channel together.

What Lifetimely does well

Lifetimely, now sold by AMP, pulls Shopify orders, ad spend from Meta, Google, and TikTok, shipping costs from ShipBob or ShipStation, and costs from QuickBooks into a daily profit and loss. It adds predictive LTV, cohorts, repurchase rates, and CAC payback, plus benchmarks against other stores.

Every plan includes every feature, and pricing follows monthly order count, from a free plan for very small stores up to an unlimited tier. Amazon is an add-on.

Where it stops

Lifetimely is a Shopify app. We found no TikTok Shop, NetSuite, ERP, or retail POS connector on AMP’s integrations page, and no warehouse export or SQL access in its docs. Its attribution page describes UTM-based reporting rather than a multi-touch model, and profit is only as accurate as the product costs you enter.

Those are reasonable trade-offs for its price. They become problems when a second channel grows, when costs change over time and need to be dated, or when you need to calculate contribution margin LTV by acquisition channel with your own definitions.

Cost

Lifetimely costs $0 to $999 a month depending on order volume, with Amazon $75 extra. A custom warehouse costs far more. If Lifetimely answers your questions, keep it. Move when the questions you cannot answer cost more than the build.

Where Lifetimely is better

  • Free plan with daily P&L, LTV prediction, custom reports and benchmarks, and paid plans from $49/month, far below the cost of a custom warehouse project
  • Priced on order volume rather than revenue, and every plan includes all features
  • Setup takes about 1-2 hours plus roughly a day of historical backfill (third-party review)
  • Ready-made profit reporting that pulls ad spend (Meta, Google, TikTok), Shopify costs, ShipBob/ShipStation shipping costs and QuickBooks custom costs
  • Predictive LTV model, cohort, repurchase and CAC payback reports out of the box
  • Benchmarks against other stores, which a single-brand warehouse cannot provide
  • Profit Agent AI monitors the store and proposes actions for approval; MCP access for AI tools on paid plans

Who should pick which

Pick Lifetimely if

  • You sell on Shopify and want daily P&L and LTV this week.
  • Your budget is tens of dollars a month, not a project.
  • Subscription LTV from Recharge, Skio, Stay AI, or Loop is a key question.
  • You want benchmarks against similar stores.

Pick a custom warehouse if

  • TikTok Shop, Amazon, wholesale, or retail need to sit next to Shopify in one model.
  • Product costs, fees, and refunds need dated rules finance can audit.
  • You need SQL access or want the data in your own warehouse.
  • You are combining several brands or stores.
