Analytics for specialty pharmacies that serve infusion sites
Your system records the dispense; the infusion site records the administration. We help you line the two up.

Where our experience comes from
Honest scope
We haven’t had a specialty pharmacy as a client; our work has been with infusion providers and the manufacturers and hubs that receive their data.
That includes specialty pharmacy doses inside infusion center data: the half of the picture you usually can’t see from the pharmacy.
What gets in the way
Most mismatches come from treating a dispense (one row per fill) and an administration (one row per dose given) as the same thing.
- Your dispense counts and the infusion site’s administration counts never match, and nobody can say why.
- You ship a patient’s dose and don’t find out whether it was given, held for the next visit, or wasted.
- A cancelled visit leaves patient-specific drug sitting at the site.
- Sites store your doses next to their own stock, and mix-ups cost someone the drug.
- A manufacturer wants a feed at a grain neither your system nor the site’s was built for.
What we would build
- 01Dispense to administration matchingYour fills lined up with the site’s completed visits by patient, therapy, and date window, with unmatched rows listed.
- 02Dose readiness viewUpcoming visits at each site, the dose each needs, and whether it shipped and arrived in time.
- 03Returned, held, and wasted dosesDoses that went out but weren’t given as planned, by site and reason.
- 04Partner and manufacturer feedsFeeds that say whether each row is a dispense or an administration, checked before every send.
Metrics to start with
Each needs a matching rule that both you and the sites accept.
| Metric | What it measures | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Doses shipped vs administered | Doses dispensed to a site compared with administrations the site recorded, by site and therapy. | Expect timing gaps. Match within a date window, not on the same day. |
| Dose readiness | Share of shipped doses on site a set number of days before the scheduled visit. | Agree on the number of days with the sites first. |
| Dispense to administration time | Days from dispense to the visit where the dose was given. | Long gaps can mean held doses, rescheduled visits, or a missed match. |
| Unmatched dispenses | Dispenses with no administration in the window, by site and age. | Some are real waste, some are a key mismatch. Check a sample before reporting a rate. |
| Orders waiting for a first fill | Orders received with no dispense yet, by age and the step they are waiting on. | Benefits and authorization steps may live in another system. |
Our closest proven work

Multi-site ambulatory infusion provider
Built four manufacturer data-contract feeds in an infusion provider’s embedded Looker, with status and dispense reconciled and QA before every upload.

Multi-site ambulatory infusion center group
Gave an infusion group’s referral sales team one value per administered visit: billing units by J-code, waste included, priced at public CMS ASP.

Common questions
Have you worked with specialty pharmacies directly?
No. We have worked on the other side: infusion center data that includes specialty pharmacy doses, and feeds that keep dispense and administration apart. That is the view we bring, and we would study your dispensing data before promising a specific report.
Why don’t our dispense counts match the site’s administrations?
Because they count different things. A dispense is a fill you ship. An administration is a dose given at a visit. One fill can cover more than one visit, visits move, and doses get held or wasted. Match on patient, therapy, and a date window, and report what is left over as its own list.
How do white-bagged doses show up in infusion center data?
In the WeInfuse data we have worked with, specialty pharmacy stock is marked as its own inventory type with no acquisition cost or expected payment. Any report that filters on expected payment drops those visits without warning, which is why a site’s volume can look lower than what you shipped.
What about brown bagging?
When the patient brings the drug to the site, there is no shipment to the site to match against. Track it as a separate category so it doesn’t show up as an unmatched dispense or a missing administration.
Can you build feeds to manufacturers?
Yes. Data-contract feeds are the infusion work we have done the most. Each feed gets a written grain, a field map, and checks that run before every send.
Bring the counts that don’t match
Your dispenses on one side, a site’s administrations on the other. We’ll look at how each is recorded and tell you what a fair match looks like.
