Sigma migration readiness check

Moving from Tableau or Power BI? Answer 16 questions to see what you already know, what is missing, and which guide covers each gap. Your answers are not sent anywhere.

1. Scope
  1. Do you have a list of every dashboard and report in the current tool, with an owner for each?

  2. Can you see which reports are actually opened, and how often?

  3. Do you know the renewal date or other deadline the migration has to meet?

  4. Is there a business owner who can approve retiring old reports?

2. Data and calculations
  1. Is the data the reports use already in a cloud warehouse Sigma can connect to?

  2. Do you know which calculations exist only inside the current BI tool?

  3. Are the main metrics defined in writing, so two people would calculate them the same way?

  4. Is row-level or user-based access documented, including who should be denied?

3. Acceptance
  1. Have you listed the totals, segments, and edge cases that must match before sign-off?

  2. Have you noted the filters, drill paths, and actions users rely on?

  3. Is there a named reviewer for each report who can say it matches?

  4. Do you know which exports, schedules, and embedded views downstream users depend on?

4. Rollout
  1. Have you picked a pilot report that includes the hard parts, not just the easiest one?

  2. Are reports grouped into waves that share data sources?

  3. Is someone named to support users and own the Sigma workbooks after launch?

  4. Is there a cutover and rollback plan for switching off the old reports?
